Our Sydney store in Westfield Sydney will be open from Monday 11 October. Please check our opening hours here, as they may be different to last time you shopped in store. There are essential measures we will be taking as a business to put the safety of our staff and customers first. These measures will be guided by the NSW Government and the wider retail industry body.

The NSW Public Health Order states that from Monday 11 October anyone aged 16 or over will need to be fully vaccinated (or have an exemption) to enter most venues including hospitality venues and non-critical retail stores.

  • In order to adhere with vaccination compliance and obligations of the NSW Public Health Order, Peter Sheppard Footwear requires all customers to be double vaccinated before entering the store.
  • Customers with medical or age exemptions are not required to be double vaccinated but we ask that you please bring your proof of exemption with you when shopping. We will respectfully ask to see proof of your exemption. Failure to provide proof of exemption will result in refusal of entry.

  • As per the NSW Government guidelines for reopening, all retail staff at Peter Sheppard Footwear will be double vaccinated if they are rostered on to work.
  • Our staff will ask you respectfully for proof of double vaccination. You can show proof of vaccination through the COVID-19 digital certificate displayed through the Medicare App, Service NSW App or equivalent smartphone wallet, a printed version of the COVID-19 digital certificate or immunisation history statement, or successful completion of a Service NSW QR check-in that includes vaccination confirmation.
  • Authorised officers will be monitoring businesses re-opening and penalties may apply for individuals and businesses who don’t comply.
  • Peter Sheppard Footwear remains impartial to the decision individual customers make about having a COVID-19 vaccination. We will be respectful to all customers, and ask in turn that you are respectful to our staff. We are doing the best job we can in the circumstance we have been given!
  • If you have any feedback, comments or concerns, please email us.

QR Codes & Checking In

As a business it is our responsibility for taking reasonable steps to prevent unvaccinated people entering the premises.

  • We require all staff and customers to check in when they enter the store, through either a digital QR code or manual sign in sheet. If you require assistance, please ask one of our staff members.
  • Checking in might also be required of you by Westfield Sydney. We apologise for any inconvenience but are confident that this extra layer of safety and security is at our customers’ best interests.

COVID-19 Safety Plan

Peter Sheppard Footwear has a registered COVID-19 Safety Plan with NSW Health. Peter Sheppard Footwear also has strict hygiene practices in store, which you can read about further down this page.

A Temporary Approach to Fitting

Where required, our staff will take a temporary approach to fitting, to ensure they are meeting the requirements for social distancing. Please ask a team member if you would like to know more.

If you have any questions or concerns relating to the matters above please do not hesitate to contact us.

Our Brisbane store is now OPEN. The safety and wellbeing of our staff and community comes first which is why:

  • It is necessary for all customers to check in when they visit. This is mandated by the government and we do not gain access to any personal details. For those without smartphones to use the QR code, we will check you in manually.
  • A 1 person per 4sqm rule applies (fortunately, the size of our store still allows for a fair few customers!)
  • Masks are currently mandatory inside unless you have an exemption.

Our Melbourne store is temporarily closed in line with government advice. We will reopen our Melbourne store once stage 4 restrictions are lifted and essential retail reopens.

With these restrictions in place, fear not. We have complimentary shipping on all online orders over $100 and an army of staff preparing dispatching orders.

For our stores that are open, we have made some adjustments in store to ensure we can continue to offer a safe in store shopping experience.

The maximum number of people (including staff) allowed in our stores at any one time is:

  • Melbourne: Currently closed
  • Sydney: 50
  • Brisbane: 20

We have disposable masks, gloves and stockings for our customers to wear while shopping in store. Face coverings are currently mandatory inside our stores in Melbourne unless you have a medical exemption. Face masks are recommended in our Brisbane and Sydney stores. This advice is subject to change in each state and we will endeavour to communicate any changes with our customers as soon as possible.

Please help us enforce a safe social-distance. Keep 1.5m away from staff (unless you give permission to be fitted) and other customers at all times when you shop in store.

Please do not enter any of our stores if you have travelled overseas in the past 14 days, have been in close contact with someone who has been diagnosed with COVID-19 or you are experiencing symptoms such as a fever, coughing, a sore throat or shortness of breath. Staff have the right to refuse to fit you should they deem you unwell.

Please refrain from using cash. If possible, please tap and go with your card when making a purchase.

We have increased the frequency and intensity of our already vigilant cleaning practices. Our staff have been fully briefed on the guidelines provided by the Government. All hand rails, display units, benches, phones, keyboards, pin pads and brannocks will be cleaned and gloves will be available for staff and customers.

Should you have any enquiries please do not hesitate to contact our customer service team.
